Seersucker

Tonight is my last choir concert here at Union. It's a weird feeling knowing I won't ever do a concert with Singers again. I can feel everything coming to a close, time to start changing things up. Oh, life. On a more exciting note...my wedding dress came in! It's at my family's house in Nashville, and I cannot wait to go up next weekend and try it on!!!

I knew this shirt was going to turn into one of my favorites, and I have worn it several times since I purchased it last week. One of my favorite things about this shirt is the lovely little keyhole in the back, so cute. Well, I'm off to get in my choir garb and head out to the concert.

Nude

Today has been the first still day it seems like in forever. The last few days we've been bombarded with storms and it has been a waiting game to see if we're going to get hit by something really terrible. The skies have finally cleared, and I hope the worst is past us.

I've been waiting to wear this new maxi skirt, and today was the perfect day! I wasn't sure I was going to love the maxi skirt when I started seeing it become popular, but I completely adore this skirt, and I think it'll end up being one of my favorites for the summer. I'm really loving the 60's vibe lately. I'm experimenting with different things to do with my hair, teasing it a little in the back and such like. I'm really bad at teasing hair and getting just the right look, but I'm getting better. I'm also finding that I'm really drawn to nudes and light neutrals, they just look so light and airy. I'll have to make a point of infusing some colors in my wardrobe for the summer time.

peter pan collar

I'm feeling my senior-itis hitting hard. I have no motivation to do school. I need to be working on chemistry, but I'm posting instead. We had a tornado warning for one and half hours this afternoon, and we're supposed to have more severe weather tonight and tomorrow...gross.That always aids in my distraction, I worry and think about the weather, and then procrastinate even more. Oh well, I'll get my stuff done...eventually. Moving on to fun things! One of the items I purchased at American Apparel this weekend was an adorable cream shirt with a peter pan collar. I love it so much. I want more shirts with peter pan collars, I think I'm addicted. I also found frilly socks at AA as well!! Loving 'em.

I might have to purchase this shirt in other colors as well, it's just great. A random question, do any of you have problems with grainy-ness when you make your pictures smaller on here? I'm all of a sudden having some slight grainy issues with my smaller photos. Weird. Okay, I'm going to try and be productive now.

Nashville Weekend // Inspiration

Well, Ty and I are back from Nashville. It's always sad to leave, but in under a year we won't have to leave any more, yay! We had a wonderful time with my family, and I got to see an old friend that I've known forever, so that was lovely. What was also super lovely was I got to do a bit of shopping at American Apparel (one of my purchases was a maxi skirt I can't wait to style) and Lauren from Blooming Leopold was working there, so I got to meet her. I completely love her blog, you should check it out. So all in all it was a great little weekend in Nashville. I thought I'd leave you with some looks I've been lovin' this past week.

I'm goin' to the chapel and...

I've been kind of silent lately when it comes to wedding things. I haven't had any time to think about it since I had been preparing for my senior recital, but now that that's over I can think of wedding things galore! Which is wonderful because my mom happened to send me a link two days ago. This link led me to the most amazing wedding dress, and I think I want it to be mine! I have it reserved on etsy, and because it has to be a secret from Ty, all I can tell you is it's vintage, just what I wanted, and in perfect condition. YAY! I can't wait to purchase it. In honor of me (or really my mom) finding my perfect vintage wedding dress, I thought I'd put a couple of other lovely dresses up.

I think this vintage 50's party dress could make a beautiful summer wedding dress.

I think this 70's wedding dress is completely lovely.

I loveee this galmorous 1930's wedding dress.

There are so many beautiful dresses out there in every era. Well, maybe not so much the 80's...but ya know. I can't wait until the day I can reveal my wedding dress on here, sadly it'll have to be after I get married in it.

times they are a changin'

As I'm sure you all have noticed, my blog is slowly changing and evolving. I'm trying to hone the look I want for it (via Tyler who does the designing and putting together) and along with that I think I want to change/add something new. I think instead of my 10 Things I Love Monday's I'm going to start doing Five Favorites Friday's. 10 things on Monday just started to get too much for me. I think that will streamline things and make it a more attainable goal for me. In addition, I think I'm going to start doing an inspiration day, where I post outfits from other lovely ladies that I'm totally diggin' at the moment. If any of you have suggestions for my blog I would be super happy to hear them!

So here are five of my favorite things.

 1. This beautiful head band.

2. I've recently discovered Thom Dolan, and these are two of my fav looks.

 3. I have recently been lusting after these Jeffrey Campbell shoes. *sigh*

4. Peter pan collars. LOVE them.

5. The Loved One line. It's incredible and affordable. Too amazing!!

I hope all you lovelies are going to have a wonderful weekend. I'm sooo excited to head up to Nashville tomorrow!

from my sisters

When my family came in for my recital my sisters brought me two gifts. One was NARS Multiple in Orgasm. They know I've been looking for a color that can double for lips and cheeks, and this is just beautiful. The other thing they brought me was a thrifted dress Sarah had altered. So I decided to sport both lovely gifts today.

I love my family. Tyler and I are going to be able to make it up to Nashville (finally) this weekend to spend Easter with them. I'm so thrilled we'll have tomorrow off. A nice long weekend will be well appreciated. I plan on doing some therapy thrifting, eating some tasty Indian food, and relaxing with my love and my wonderful fam.

Accomplished

I'm sorry I've been a bit quiet for a few days. I've been stressing out and preparing for my senior recital...which is now over! I'm so relieved. As soon as it was finished I felt like I was walking on air. It went so well, and I'm so happy it's over. Here are a few photo's of me and my crazy family.

These are my two wonderful sisters. Hannah on the left and Sarah on the right.

This is my amazing family. From left to right: Jesse (the baby of the family, he just turned 13!) my mom, me (obviously) Sarah, then my dad, David, and Hannah. Love them all so much.

I'm happy beyond belief that my senior recital is over, but it's almost bitter sweet. As I sang my last song, I thought of my first year in college, how my senior recital seemed so far away. I know it's only college, but I think this is the first part of my life where I'm beginning to realize how quickly time goes by. It feels like just the other day I was enrolling to become a student at Union, and now I have my student teaching to do in the fall, and then I'm done. I'll get married in less than a year. Wow, those are some wonderful but big steps. I'm so excited to see what the future holds, and completely blessed to have such a loving and supportive family and fiance.

Night Time Blogging

Good evening, I know it is quite late in the evening, well actually it's not even Saturday any more. I was just excited about two things I thrifted today, and I just had to share. You'll have to forgive the quality of the photo's as they were taken at midnight.

Today has been lovely. Tyler and I have both had to do some work, but we've had some great downtime. We got chinese take out and watched 500 Days of Summer this evening. One of my favorite Zooey movies.

I'd been getting down about my lack of funds to purchase lovely things, so I persuaded Ty to go with me to do a bit of thrifting. I found this wonderful skirt and blouse for $7 total. Just wonderful; it made my day. I'd been searching for a maxi-ish skirt and this one was perfect. I also wanted a cream colored blouse, and lo and behold I found this one. It's so exciting to find beautiful things for such little money.

red and blue

This is my outfit from yesterday. The weather has been amazing, and I've enjoyed some simple layering, but it is definitely spring now. I think I might be sad when I can no longer layer. I love tights and shorts. Maybe I could get away with some super thin ones. I also just had my hair re-dyed (by my friend Shannon) so it looks like my hair is on fire. You can't tell as much in these pics since I've edited to calm down the colors.

Wish List *sigh*

I'm been strolling around the internet lately, and I've been seeing many a lovely thing. Here are a couple items from my wish list. I plan on getting them...eventually.

This BEAUTIFUL bathing suite by alexandra grecco. I always have problems finding swim suites that I like and that are flattering. I love the vintage feel of this suite, I think it might have to be purchased later on.

I recently found this adorable shop on etsy. The jewelry is completely amazing.

I adore these shoes! They may be something I purchase sometime soon-ish since they aren't horribly expensive.

I'm off to keep studying for a test.

creamy colors

The weather is beautiful today! It's a little bit cooler, more around 70 rather than 88, and the sun is shining. Ahhh.

I realized after Ty took these pictures, that I'm wearing a very similar color palate to my last outfit post. But, that's ok, I just happen to love these colors together.

School is keeping both Ty and I running a bit crazy. I'll be so happy when the summer comes around. In exciting news! Jackson has acquired a Sweet Ce Ce's, and Ty and I are headed there as soon as I'm done with work tonight. Yummm.
