10 Thing I Love Monday // Etsy Edition

The weekend I was so looking forward to, was good, however, I got sick on Friday. I'm in fact, still sick, so sorry for the lack of blog posts the past few days. It's been a bit rough driving from Jackson to Nashville and back, and being ill to boot. I also had two tests today I had to study for when I got back. Altogether, not quite the weekend I had planned.

On a happier note, I have been looking through lots of fun things on Etsy as of late. These are some of the things I found that I just adore!

 1. I love owls! This one here.

2. I'm really wanting to build my jewelry collection. This would be a great addition.

 3. I think these notebooks are adorable.

4. I want to start a journal, so I could use these.

 5. I want this vintage book of french fairy tales! So lovely. Too bad I don't read french.

 6. I love these! I think I'm going to purchase one soon.

 7. I really wanted this vintage necklace, you could even put notes in it. However, it's sold :(

8. These lovely boots. They are men's...but, maybe for a boyfriend?

 9. I considered this dress for my wedding, but as soon as I e-mailed the seller it was gone. Things on etsy sell so quickly.

10. This, ohhhh so lovely, necklace!

Run For The Hills

Today has been one of those dreary days. We had lots of good tornado warnings last night, and today, as usual for days after tornado warnings, is filled with coldness and icky feelings. I think I might be coming down with something. My head feels like it's being squeezed. Even with today's coldness and dreary weather I'm still looking forward to my trip to Nashville tomorrow. I can't wait to see my family, look at wedding venues, and thrift.

Wayward Sisters

Here are some pictures from the opera Dido and Aeneas I was recently in. I played the Sorceress, who wanted to kill Dido, the Queen of Carthage. It was a great part to play, very creepy, and dramatic.

On the left is my friend Megan and on the right Gillian; in these scenes they were witches. It was a delight to get to sing and act with them both.

I had several people ask if this was my real hair after the opera. Yes, this is my real hair, with a good bit of teasing and hairspray c/o my dear Megan. I can tell you it was a pain to shower that night, I had a million knots in my hair.

The opera is over! It was a great performance, and I really enjoyed being a part of it, but I'm very happy it's over. I'll post some pics of it soon.

Now that the opera is over, there is a great weight lifted in my school life, only to be replaced by tests, and my looming senior recital. It also means that the choir tour to Italy is closer, and that's super exciting! School goes on.

I'm going home to Nashville this weekend to look for venues for the wedding! I also hope to get in some much needed thrifting with my sistersIt'll be a lovely weekend.

10 Things I Love Monday // Glad the opera is about to be over

The opera I'm in, Dido and Aeneas, was postponed two weeks ago because of snow. Finally, tonight, we will be performing it! I'm excited about performing, but also about all the hard work being over. In honor of the opera, I have put one of my favorite singers on my list this week.

1. Cecilia Bartoli. She has the most incredible control of her voice.

 2. These shoes from topshop

3. Feather necklaces. Like this one from friendly gesture

  4. Braids. I need to figure out how to do braids well with my curly locks. Pics from weheartit

5. This dress from topshop. I'm a sucker for stripes.

 6. This bridesmaid dress from BHLDN

7. I have been wanting these moccasins from darlingtonia for a long while. Soooo lovely.

8. Clutches! This lovely one is at red ruby rose

9. I adore finding new blogs. Especially ones couples write together. Louder Than Silence is a delightful blog, you should check it out.

 10. My mandolin. This is not it exactly, but it's the same style. I need to get it out and play it more. Also, I really want a band with a mandolin to play at our wedding.

I hope all you lovlies have a grand Monday!

Love!

Smile Like You Mean It

I've been feeling ill today, ick. I really wanted to do an outfit post, but it just didn't work out. Since I was feeling too yucky to do an outfit post, I looked at things I wanted. This probably isn't the smartest of plans, but I had fun.

I've been thinking a lot about the future today. I think it comes with thinking about wedding planning and whatnot. I'm really excited about what the future holds, and I'm ready to be done with college. I'm ready to start a job and use what I've been learning over the past four years. College wasn't what I thought it was going to be. It has been so much better, and in some ways, so much harder than I thought. Lots of beginnings and endings of friendships, classes, and life lessons. I'm sure I will look back one day and wish I could come back, but right now, I'm ready to be done.

The Date

We set the date for our wedding! We were originally thinking right after we both graduated in December, but after realizing how stressful it would be to move in to a place, graduate, and plan the last details of a wedding in one week, we decided it was best to wait until after Christmas. Our date is...January 21st! Next weekend I'll be going up to Nashville to start looking for venues with my mom and sisters, I'm sooo excited!

Since I have wedding everything-ness on the brain, I thought I would post a couple of my favorite items from BHLDN.

I completely love the color of this dress. One thing I've never wanted is a white wedding dress, it's such an unflattering color. Something along the lines of this is simply gorgous.

This dress has a beautiful color as well. I still haven't decided if I want a tea length dress or floor length.

I love love love these gloves!

These shoes are adorable. I think they would be the perfect touch of blue.
