Italia

I have finally uploaded all of my pictures I took in Italy. There are so many beautiful pictures, it was really difficult to choose the ones I would post. I finally narrowed them down, and I hope there aren't too many.

Italy was incredible. I completely fell in love with it. After seven days there, I felt like I could live there easily...if I had my darling with me. It was a wonderful trip, but I would be lying if I didn't say it was semi disappointing not having Tyler there to share every wonderful moment with me. The choir went to so many beautiful places. The main areas we stayed in were Rome, Florence, and Venice. I know there were wonderful places we missed along the tour, but the places we saw were amazing.

We (when ever I say we I always mean the choir) woke up at 6:45 pretty much every morning and were out until around eight or later most evenings. It made the most of every day, but it also made for an exhausted Emma every night, and I did not sleep very well. So after I got home I felt like I needed a spring break after spring break.

We sang in glorious places. Some of them included St. Mark's in Venice and St. Peter's in Vatican City, also the Pantheon in Rome. These were places that I will remember forever; it's such a great experience to sing in these historic, beautiful places.

The coliseum

lovely little restaurant in Rome

I caught an artist painting in the streets of Rome and someone taking pictures of him.

During some free time I discovered this amazing bead shop...I think it was in Rome...or Florence.

The Fountain of Trevi

I'm about to throw my three coins in

In Vatican City about to head into St. Peter's

 St. Peter's BAHH!

The Sistine Chapel. Pictures actually aren't allowed but I snuck a few.

St. Mark's in Venice. Wow, most of the ceiling is covered in gold. One of our tour guides told us it took two and a half centuries to finish it.

Venice.

Ok, I hope all of that didn't overwhelm you. I could have put up sooo many more. One of my favorite things about Italy is how wonderfully dressed everybody was. They all looked so lovely, I adored how put together and classy everyone looked.

One of my least favorite things about Italy was the smell of Venice. The water was particularly low, and therefore particularly smelly. Also, in St. Marks we had to change (into our concert attire) in a crypt...yes...you heard me right, a crypt! It was one of the worst smells I have ever experienced in my life. Not to mention it was pretty creepy to be changing in a crypt.

Even with some of the odd smells and the creepy crypt, Italy was one of the most amazing places I've ever been in my life (so far). I hope I get the chance to go back in the next few years with my Ty.

Bad Blogger

I realized I have been a terrible blogger. I don't even want to think of the last time I blogged. I just wanted to say I'm going to be back super soon with an Italy post. I got back from Italy last Friday, and have been trying to stay awake and go to school since then, which has proved to be a little bit of a struggle. Right now, it is only 9:15 and I have wanted to go to bed for the past hour, but I'm fighting it because I know if I do I'll wake up at 4:00 am and want to start my day.

Here's a little outfit, and hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with a real post.

10 things HE loves Monday

So...because Emma is not in the country, and blog posts are difficult to make with a poor internet connection, I, Emma's fiance, will post 10 things that I love until she returns! Let us begin...

1. These Italian Boots

2. A sturdy tie is always a good thing. Especially gray scale.

3. I've really been wanting a spring trench coat for those chilled/rainy days.

4. The films of Christopher Guest

5. This EXTREMELY expensive Big Pilot watch

6. This Prada Messenger Bag

7. The first movie I ever remember watching, The Incredible Shrinking Man

8. A subtle twist on an old classic. These sunglasses

9. Getting ready for marriage, I'm seriously considering a 3 piece suit like this.

10. This wonderful website full of awkward family photos.

I'm sorry that you had to read my favorite things rather than Emma's. In other news, her trip to Italy is going well. She is suffering from jet lag, but other than that she is fine. I miss her so and can't wait for her to be back in America with me. Emma will try to post form Italy, but no promises. Internet is pretty rough over there. Hope you have a great day!

I'm leavin' on a jet plane

Today is the day. I leave for Italy. I'm really excited about visiting Italy, but very sad to be leaving Ty behind. It really feels like he should be coming with me. I'll just have to bring him something good back. The choir leaves to head over to Memphis at 3:30, and then we'll be getting on the plane around 8:30. This is my first international flight, and I'm kinda nervous. I'll just cross my fingers and take some tylenol pm.

I'm not sure how much time or opportunity I'll have to blog, but I will definitely try as much as I can.

I'm gonna go finish packing, and slip into my comfy plane clothes. I'll hopefully back on here in a few days for some Italy updates!

Spring is in the air

Today I could really feel the approach of spring. It was warm enough to go outside with just a sweater and some tights, but it was rainy and everything was soggy. Hurry up and get here warmer weather! I've been checking off things on my to-do list in preparation for Italy. My goal is to start packing a little tomorrow.

New Bag

I had a lovely day in Nashville yesterday. It was great to see my family, and we got my shoes and jewelry for my senior recital (They are so beautiful. I can't wait until I can post pics) annnnd, perhaps the most exciting thing I got was this...

It's an awesome messenger bag from Fossil. I have been lugging around the same purse for books, and my everyday needs, for the past four years, and it is pretty much torn to shreds. My Dad was very sweet and splurged on this great replacement. I will probably be seen lugging it everywhere.

In other news, I'm trying to get all my school stuff done before I leave for Italy on Thursday. Ahhh, it's so soon! I'm really excited about the trip, but really sad I'll have to leave Ty behind on spring break. It's a good thing I have skype. I think I have everything I need for the trip, I just have to decide what clothes to bring...which will be difficult. I'm going to head back to my studying now...*sighs*

I hope you all have had a splendid weekend!

Polka Spots

It's almost the weekend, it's almost the weekend. That is my mantra right now.  I'll be heading to Nashville on Saturday for some lovely time with my family. Sadly, Ty won't be able to come since he'll still be filming for his short film.
