Little Black Dress
I always find myself going back to this little black dress I got a couple years ago at gap. It's so versatile, and even though it's not a super fancy little black dress, it has served me well. I'm really wanting to branch into brighter colors since I'm so comfortable in neutrals, but that might take a while.

I have some bad news about my seer sucker shorts I was making. I think I did something wrong, because they were supposed to be high waisted and they certainly did not even come up to my waist. They look bizarre; like a very small child with really wide hips might wear them. Oh well, I took the left over fabric and am venturing into making hair pieces, so I'll show you some soon!

Summer is for grilling
This outfit was from a few days ago, and every time I sat down to blog, something else came up. So now, I'm blogging!
I wore this outfit when we went to see The Thin Red Line at the Belcourt with my mom and dad. It was such a wonderful movie! It was made in 1998, but the Belcourt is running all of Malick's films in celebration of his newest movie The Tree of Life, which is coming out this Friday (which we are also going to see this weekend).

Tyler and I got a grill today, and we're venturing into the wild unknown of grilling meats. Well, Tyler is, I'm just watching. He's putting together the grill as I type in hopes that we might have a tasty dinner of grilled pork chops, yumm.
Also, I got another job doing therapy with a little boy who is autistic! (I don't think I've ever mentioned that's what I do for work. I do ABA therapy with this little boy, and through his mother have now found a second job as well, yay!) So, I'm really excited about that.
I hope you are all have a marvelous week! (it's almost Friday!!)

Simplicity.
Whenever I think about summer I always think about how wonderful relaxing it is, what a simple time it can be. I feel like summer outfits often reflect that, and mine certainly did today.
I love flowing skirts and dresses during the hot summer months. They keeps you cool and comfy. I'd love to get some maxi dresses, maybe I could even make one!

After my last little sewing project I think I'm addicted. I've already started my next one. A little pair of shorts made out of a light blue seer sucker. I hope they turn out well.

Finished.
I actually made my blouse! It took me a good 45 minutes to mull over the pattern so I could understand it, but I did it. Here is the end result!

There are a few things I know I didn't do quite right, but I'll know better for next time. I've gotten a few more fabrics and patterns, so hopefully next week I'll have at least one more project to show you guys.

Five Things I Love Friday!
1. Olive and Orange's spring and summer line. SO adorable!
2. This amazing dress by Chloe. I want it soo much!
3. I adore rainy days. Today is a lovely rainy day; just so relaxing.
4. This sweet playsuit.
5. This blogger. Oh my goodness her pictures are breath taking.
Today I'm trying to work on my blouse I started a while back. I'm not very good at reading patterns yet so I'm pretty confused, but I think I'll still be able to do it. Right now I'm off to do a bit of thrifting with Ty. I'm trying to find some pretty little storage pieces so I can put my make up and jewelry out and not have them in a big mess around my room.
I hope you all are having a fantastic Friday!

Date Night!
Tonight Tyler and I are heading out on a date. Even though we eat most meals together, it's always nice to make that time to go out an official "date". We're going to see the new Woody Allen movie Midnight in Paris. Have any of you seen it?

I found these earrings recently and realized I got them as a gift last Christmas and had never worn them! What a shame, they are so lovely, I'll have to be wearing them more often. Something else I was excited to find were these shoes the other day when I was thrifting, I think they're such a find.

Blondie
Last night Tyler helped me (well he actually just did everything) strip my hair of color and then dye it blond! It's still redish, and I think it finally looks like the strawberry blond I really wanted. He's just the sweetest thing to take on the job of dying my hair. Good job Tyler!
