Jeans for the weekend

Sorry for the lack of posts this past week, I've felt a little uninspired and have been trying to tolerate the new blogger layout. It makes me never want to be on here...I'm sure I'll get used to it soon though.

Last night we were planning on going to our first swing dance (we've been taking lessons but have yet to go to an actual dance) but I ended up having a bit of an allergic reaction to some food I ate and so we didn't go. However, Tyler's sister Kayla was in town so we went to meet her for dinner. It was so lovely to see her, and we had a great time. I was feeling much more inspired while getting dressed, and lately with my new hair I'm feeling quite inspired by Marilyn.

Ty and I are about to head out to see the documentary Bully, have any of you seen it? I've been very interested to see it.

I'm really loving playing around with my new hair. It's very 50's, which is great, but I want to experiment with a few styles that look a little more 30's and 40's. I need to look at some pin curl setting patterns I think.

I hope all you are having a fantastic weekend!

xo,
 Em

  9. Wow! This makeup look on you is definitely your look. It is a keeper. Your hair is looking fabulous in a Marilyn Monroe pin curl set. You are the most experienced cameleon I know. Always able to change your look around and still look as fabulous as the last.

  11. Love the hair, need a tutorial, stat! And I'm curious to hear what you thought of the film Bully. I don't know that I'd be able to sit through it...I think it would infuriate me too much. Do hope you are feeling better and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  20. Hope you feel better now! You look gorgeous. The third picture is so Marilyn; it's eerie! Have you considered re-enacting one of Marilyn's poses with books? I think you could pull it off.

The new blogger interface is meh. It's easy to use but so UGLY. I wish they had skins for it so we could change its appearance.

I do prefer you hair dark (speaking as a member of team brunette myself) but I am so jealous of your ability to be such a chameleon! You look lovely with it any colour!

  25. You look great! I just stumbeled over your blog today and I've been reading back through your post and I can say you look amazing in every single haircolour.
I've been dyeing my hair for 10 years now and I'd like to go back to being blonde, but I'm afraid my already damaged hair wouldn't like it much. :)

  26. This is so so gorgeous. I love the balance of the tight sweater and the wide jeans. Reminds me of picture of my granny in America in the early 50s. She was about 22 and she bought her first pair of jeans in NY. I have the photo on my dressing table because her hair and lipstick just make the jeans look so stylish in comparison to how most jeans look today. You really nailed it!
