Oh, Monday

I love coming home from a full day of work to find some of my favorite shows have new episodes up on Hulu! Ty is working late tonight, so I get to watch my shows he doesn't enjoy and eat left overs. A pretty good evening, but I wish he didn't have to work so late.

I went and saw the film Bully this past weekend, and wow, it was very powerful. I think anybody who is in the school system (including students) really needs to see it. Bullying is such an issue, especially in public schools, it was a documentary that really needed to be made in my opinion. It was very emotional and made me so angry about how some kids treat others, but it lets you see how cruel bullying really can be. I recommend seeing it if you have the opportunity.

  2. Hey, I say as long as the jeans are high-waisted it is all okay...actually more than okay. I hate low-rise jeans. They are so unsightly. You look amaze balls in these photos. I love this new shorter Marilyn Monroe pin curl set as of late. It suits you so well! And girl those glasses are so fierce on you. I have to have them. Also, sorry about your hubby working late. That is the worst, but I am glad you are keeping yourself busy.

  6. Oh, Emma, you are an absolute doll! I love those glasses...and the hair is just divine. You really are pulling off that Marilyn look very well. Hope you enjoyed your "stories" as my g'ma used to call her favorite shows!

  9. Could you look any sweeter, cuter, or prettier? I really think not! :) Love this causal, stylish outfit - and how awesome your hair looks these days. Can't decide which element I like about it more, the colour or the fabulous cut.

Big hugs & oodles of joyful wishes for the month of May,

  12. I've been meaning to see "Bully." Like so many people, I was teased quite a bit in high school, and I remember feeling incredibly relieved when I graduated. It makes me feel terrible that bullying doesn't seem to be going away, and I'm curious to see how the film tackles this issue.

On a lighter note, I stumbled upon your blog a few days ago and have loved looking through your archives! You have the sweetest vintage style, and you wear pants like no one I've ever seen (a skill I've not yet mastered)! Looking forward to future posts!

  16. I am LOVING your shorter hair! Looks like you are, too - great photos!

I hadn't heard of that documentary but I might look it up now. Bullying is the most frustrating thing! It's so pointless and inexcusable, yet so prevalent. It must be so hard for you teachers to deal with it in a mature and professional manner, when deep down all anybody wants to do with a bully is give them a taste of their own medicine!

  17. Oh Em! I have a hair appointment next week (I took in a picture of Miss Mia Wallace!) and I am so nervous about getting a bob after having long hair for many many years, but then I saw this post and smiled, you look FANTASTIC! I love the cut and that colour on you and the Marilyn style, perfecto!

Thanks for the movie tip, I was bullied in highschool, so I darn well HATE seeing anyone get bullied but I will see if I can contain my anger and sadness to watch it! It's so unfortunate too that some bullies never grow out of it and become adult bullies, my friend is being bullied by someone at her work just now and UGH it enrages me! Anyhoo, have a brilliant week and I hope you enjoyed your tv shows! :) Zoë xxx

  21. Your new hair colour is just perfection! I have naturally blonde hair but have dyed it black for years - I'd love to step into a lovely strawberry blonde (but by the time I got all the dye out it would likely resemble straw!). I really love your style. I'm really wanting a pair of those jeans having spotted them in a few of your posts!
