I have been lusting over Trashy Diva dresses for a while now. Coveting their super adorable cuts and patterns. This past week my dream was finally realized and I purchased the Day Dress in Pearl Harbor. I love it! I wore it to my brothers 8th grade graduation (Nooo! He's the baby of our family. I'm the oldest of five so I don't want any of my siblings to grow up) I can't decide if the cut or print is my favorite, but I do want like five more dresses in this print.
I had to get ready for the evening graduation in the morning since I had to leave straight from work, and super smart me decided I wanted to wear my corset...all...day....long. I can fit into the dress fine, but I liked the dramatic look the corset lent and so yeah. Well, after about 3 hours of corset wearing I was about to murder myself so I went to the bathroom and took it off and snuck it into my large bag. Lesson learned. I will only wear my corset for short periods of time until I'm more used to it, whew.

ReplyDeletelove this dress, you look so pretty!
ReplyDelete// take a look: *MICROPHONEHEART.
You look gorgeous! :) I really adore this dress--as well as just about all the dresses TD sells. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! I think is one of my favorite outfits of yours! The blue-seamed stockings are such a cute detail :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, which WKD corset do you have? I wear the Morticia, and it's lovely! It definitely took awhile to break it in, though - try wearing it around at home for an hour or two every now and then. It should mould to you eventually and feel more comfortable.
ReplyDeleteAnd also, you look quite ravishing!
Cute!! i love the print. i feel the same way, i dont want my younger siblings to grow up!
ReplyDeleteWowowo you've got the loveliest figure (with or without the corset), you look so fantastic here! That dress is stellar.
ReplyDeleteI'm the oldest of 3 + a step brother, so I feel ya on the not wanting them to grow up thing! My baby brother's shooting upward and is most definitely going to be taller than me in the next year or so. Which is wild. I'll be the shortest in my whole family LOL!

Hot woman alert! That cut is amazing on you. It really accentuates your tiny waist/hourglass figure. Definitely buy more dresses with this cut/shape. You are making want this dress too. Also, your hair pairs perfectly with your outfit. I am so loving the Marilyn Monroe inspired curl set.
ReplyDeleteYou look super beautiful in this dress! It goes perfectly with your hair and makeup.

Your waist looks tiiiny! You are making me want both the dress and the corset! I'm not sure I could handle it though, I am too much of a comfort addict. :D
ReplyDeleteravishingretro.com: That's the one I have! I love the look of it so much. Thanks, that's great advice I'm gonna try to start wearing it more a little at a time.
ReplyDeleteSigh, I have several fine corsets I've not worn in years, I should probably sell them! Like Solveig I'm too used to being comfortable these days. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is gorgeous on you. The print is really amazing!
You look too divine! I luv Trashy Diva, but have never kept any of their dresses after they have arrived in the mail.l They just dont look....right.....on me. Their prints are gorgeous tho. I have a corset but can only wear it for a couple of hours.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that dress! When I was getting ready for my wedding I practiced wearing my corset. I took it on several all day test runs. It definitely took some getting used to! I haven't worn my corset since my wedding but someday when I have a bigger gap between children I'd like to wear it again.
ReplyDeleteThat dress really is to die for, Trashy Diva always use such stunning fabrics for their dresses :D
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm loving how your blue seamed stockings match the dress, so fabulous!!!
Your figure looks Amazing (though it sounds like the corset all day was intense), and I LOVE the print and cut. You are adorable.
ReplyDeleteSeriously - tiniest waist ever!
ReplyDeleteLove Trashy and that one look fab on you. The colours are gorge.
Love that dramatic look, too! The blue seams also look fantastic :-)
ReplyDeleteAmazing look! love it! :)

Oh, I have been coveting them for years too! I love this, the gorgeous print, cut and with the corset, it is just divine! I have done that before, you think you will cope fine but then the discomfort just grows and grows! :) I love your stockings too! So pretty! I haven't actually worn my corset or stockings since the end of last summer but will be wearing them again soon if our Scottish weather permits! :) Zoë xxx
ReplyDeleteI've been coveting their stellar frocks for ages, too, but as of right now, they're still just daydreams for me. I adored seeing your Trashy Diva dress, and think that you positively beautiful in it!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a terrific Tuesday,
♥ Jessica
I seriously think I would die in a corset. For reals. But I adore the way it makes this dress hang on you (and it's an amazing dress)...so props to you!

I love this dress. It's so adorable.
ReplyDeleteLove you in skirts and dresses.

you look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love corsets and have gotten all of my via Trashy Diva actually. That said, I usually save them more for special occasions / costumes, and some of them are more comfortable than others. The ones I have made by Isabella (the custom corsets TD carries) are my favorite, because they're built really well and I find them the most comfortable. That said, I once ordered one a size smaller than I normally wear and that was NOT comfortable and I ended up selling it.
ReplyDeleteWould you mind if I cross-post one of your pictures here to the Trashy Diva blog and link back to your post here? http://www.trashydiva.com/blog/
Mallory: That would be fine, go right ahead :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great look! Love the oriental details on it. Your red lips are just perfect for this dress.

Can I ask what corset you got from 'what katie did'? I had one from them but had to sell it on as the fastenings were so bulky at the back they showed underneath every dress-frustrating because it gave a great silhouette.
ReplyDeletevicenoffoxgreen: I have the Morticia corset. I've never had an issue with the lacings in the back showing through, so maybe it would work for ya.
ReplyDeleteYou are a living doll. I have gone back and admired just about as many photos of your outfits as I could. Amazing vintage. Do you wear the vintage items that you post? Following along with you. dawn suitcase vignettes xo
ReplyDeleteumm... you are absolutely adorable! do find all of your vintage clothes at thrift stores or where?
ReplyDeleteDawn:
ReplyDeleteThanks :) Yes, any vintage item I post about (if I'm wearing it) I do indeed wear on a regular basis.
Kat ann: I get most of them at little vintage stores here in Nashville, but I happen upon a few at thrift stores. Mainly I find thrift stores handy for 80's clothes that can look a little older when styled.
