It's A Wonderful Life

These were taken from the night that my darling husband took me out to eat at a lovely place called F. Scott's for my birthday weekend. We had a super amazing time.

Life has been going amazingly well for Ty and I. We've really been wanting to pay off student loans as quickly as possible, and we're using the Dave Ramsey approach to finances. We have no credit cards and we pay cash for everything. That means we really have to save up to get things we need/want, and that also means we are paying off our debt and will, hopefully, in just a few short years be completely debt free. To do this more quickly we wanted to both get extra jobs, and I found a nannying position working the perfect hours after I teach preschool! It was such an amazing blessing. Also, Ty is up for a promotion, so keep your fingers crossed for him.

50's dress borrowed from my sister
shoes swedish hasbeens (bday gift from my hubby!!)

I've also talked about my journey to loose some weight on here, and it's going super well! I'm exercising 5 days a week and attempting to eat super healthy. I can already tell my old clothes are starting to fit a little better, and I'm excited to keep working hard. All in all, life is going pretty darn well in the Litton house hold and we are very thankful for that.

How are things going for you?

xo,
 Em

  6. I'm happy to hear things are going so well for you! I'm dreading my own student loans that I will very soon have to begin payments on, so I must wish you well on yours! It sounds like using cash only is a good way to go, as it's so much easier to spend more with a card. Good to hear about the weight loss too! I'm feeling like I need to shed a few pounds & just eat healthier in general as well, though summer always has me feeling that way!
p.s.: You look adorable & Happy Birthday! Oh, and I hope that restaurant was named for a certain Fitzgerald!

  26. So glad things are going well for you! This dress is so adorable :) As Rhett and I are getting closer to the wedding date, we've been discussing finances a lot. We actually do have a lot of debt between us, but it's all manageable debt, so I'm not too worried. I have to say, I like having my credit card. I pay it off every month, and I get so many points to use on Amazon. It's like free money. haha.

  29. Oh, I love that dress, and I've seen those shoes on a few occasion and oogled at them, and now I continue to oogle! You would be the best pre-school teacher, I bet all of your students will be saying they want to be like you when they're older. I'm on a bit of a weight loss thing right now, pilates and bike-riding. But today I caved when it came to ice cream, eek!

  32. Congratulations, good news all round! I always love it when bloggers talk about real-life, nitty-gritty goals, like clearing debt. As it happens I just today finished paying off a credit card that has been hanging around for YEARS and I'm so proud of myself! I wish you both the best of luck with the plan x
