The other night I attended a blogger cocktail party, and it was so super lovely. I adore any excuse to get really dressed up. I met some lovely new blogging ladies and I can't wait for us all to get together again.
I bought this dress over a year ago and had never taken it out for a spin, so I was so excited to be able to wear it. Even though it was made in the 70's I think it has a lovely look of the 40's about it.
70's dress flash backs
50's fur coat my grandmothers
shoes not sure
pearl necklace gift from my father
30's bracelet flea market
Please excuse the odd look of these pictures they were taken inside at night so I worked with what I had.
I hope you all have been having a fabulous week!
xo,
Em
Wow what an absolutely stunning dress!!

ReplyDeleteAmazing dress!
ReplyDeleteHaha, one thing we talked about that night at the party was how all of us have bad pictures lately because winter lighting sucks. :) I was disappointed that I didn't get to talk to you that night; Keith and I got there a little later than most. I saw you in the kitchen, and I thought She looks like a movie star. What an amazing dress! And then you were gone. Oh well, next time?
ReplyDeleteThat dress is fantastic, you look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteStunning dress and you look beautiful xx
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely!!! xox
ReplyDeleteYou look divine! That cropped fur coat is so lovely and the dress is such a beautiful colour, I love the sheen the fabric has to it! You're so lucky to have blog events to attend, I'm fairly certain there are no bloggers where I live :P
ReplyDeleteOh, LOVELY. I swoon over your hair everytime I look at your blog. It truly always looks amazing. And what a pretty ensemble too! Love the vintage fur-adds so much glamour :)
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely stunning. This dress was made for your bombshell curves. Glad to see you finally let this bad boy out to see the light of day. I would love to attend a blogger cocktail party. It involves two of my favorite things...drinking and socializing!
ReplyDeleteOh you look so very pretty!!!! The dress is just stunning, I love a 70's does 40's.
ReplyDeleteYay to a lovely night out all dressed up and looking so glamorous.

I love how you've used pieces from across the decades and yet it all works (stitching time together, you're a magician!!). I love your hair styling. I haven't styled my hair in faux bangs in about 8 months. And I really really want to start wearing my hair like it again.

You look incredible! Weird question, but what bra are you wearing? I love the silhouette you have.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Oh it's fine, I almost listed it in what I was wearing haha. It's a vintage strapless bullet bra. The only bullet bras that I find that really fit me well are usually vintage.
DeleteYeah, it almost looks like a 60s bullet bra because it's not super pointy. I really like it. It's so hard to find good bras!
DeleteI love it!I actually have a few 70s pieces that I think look 40s - there were some definite influences.
ReplyDeleteTrès belle robe, très belle tenue, comme d'habitude toujours aussi jolie....Biz
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress, and your hair looks gorgeous! xxx

ReplyDeleteHow immensely stylish, elegant and drop-dead gorgeous! I completely agree that this dress smacks of the 40s, and all the more so when it's accessorized and partnered with the perfect vintage hairstyle, as you have done here. Stunning cocktail party look, dear Emma!

That color looks stunning on you. What a fun dress, love the two tone. The whole outfit is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning ensemble! The fur coat is gorgeous. I love the idea of a blogger cocktail party... I wish the bloggers around here were a little more sociable or easier to find!
ReplyDeleteStunning!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is amazing! I love 70s-does-40s clothes. Often look just as lovely and they can handle a bit more wear and tear than the 40s articles! You look absolutely fabulous in it x
ReplyDeleteso sad i missed you ladies. next time.
ReplyDeleteOh, your pictures are glowing! I adore you in this dress, you should try this colour more it suits you so! Especially with your dark hair! In the winter time I over-kill this colour! :) Hope you are enjoying the winter sweet American lass! :) x
ReplyDeleteNo need to apologize for these photos - they are gorgeous, as are you!! A stellar ensemble..
ReplyDeleteAnd that fur made me turn green! Lucky you having a gram who saved such a lovely item :) I love the colour of your dress too, it's really pretty with your dark hair.

ReplyDeleteOh, how gorgeous. Love you in that dress!
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! In just glancing at these pics, I first thought they *were* vintage--that's how convincing the look is. I thought you were going to follow it up with something along the lines of '...and I got the inspiration for my look from this vintage magazine' or something!
ReplyDeleteoh, this dress is fabulous ... it really looks quite 40s. love it.
ReplyDeletehappy new year, darling!
