It's The Little Things

I'll go ahead and start this off with our bad news, which is...we didn't get the house. In the end it was such a stressful situation and it put way too much strain on Tyler and I. How it happened was how it was supposed to happen and we are at peace about that. I also got sick in the process, which is never fun. I think my body takes it out on me majorly when I'm stressed, good job body, good job.

Tyler and I had the best weekend though, being joyful, at peace, and relaxed. We went to a St. Patrick's Day Festival in East Nashville and indulged in some good ol' retail therapy.

Sometimes it's the little things in life that pick you up when you are down. These jeans fit again, not exactly how I would want, but they fit, and that has been a goal of mine. As silly as it might sound that made my day.

50's cat pin gift from a lovely lady

I went shopping at this lovely place called Wonders on Woodland and went to buy this darling 50's cat pin and the lady gave it to me for free. She just gave it to me and proceeded to give me a fantastic hug. It seems small but it really lifted my spirits.

I'm enjoying this time of peace and focusing on the little pleasures that make life so sweet.

xo,
 Em

  2. So happy you've found peace with everything. Moving is so stressful.
But everything happens for a reason, and if a house can cause that much stress before you've even moved in then it's obviously not meant to be. Your dream home is still out there waiting tor you somewhere :)
You look wonderful as always! Xx

  3. Was it the owner Deb at Wonders on Woodland? She is such a sweet person and that pin is soooo great. I'm sorry to hear about the house and you getting sick. Like you said, sometimes things work out for the best. I hope that it all works out as it should.

  7. I'm really sorry to hear you didn't get it. I was actually thinking about you two over the weekend and wondering if you got the house!:( Not to sound shallow, but at least you look amazing. Congrats on getting back into your favorite jeans!

And I feel like a huge creeper even asking this, but was this pic taken on the porch at Moda? :)

  8. Aww that sucks, I believe everything happens for a reason though and you'll find a beautiful new house. I can completely relate to the jeans, I just brought a gorgeous pair of high waisted ones from ASOS in a size 10, the first pair of size 10's I've fit in in 6 years! xx

  13. Sorry about the house and getting sick. It's funny, I have the same brooch but I always thought it was a dog. It totally is a cat! Mine has lost its whiskers.

  16. Aw, rats to that no-good, no-deal takin' house. There will be an even better one around the corner, I bet, just the place for you all! Also, congrats on meeting your goal about getting back into your jeans and hooray for the free kitty cat pin! It's the little nicenesses that make such a difference when you're already feeling low. PS: If you're interested in some retail therapy *this* weekend, my schedule is open! I am always up for shopping away the blues! :)

  19. That's a shame... My family didn't get a great house that we were after recently too... It sucks! You look wonderful, love the brooch. x

  20. I'm sorry about the house. We were in the hunt in January and sadly missed out on one that had the most perfect 1950's kitchen and stove. I was so disappointed! But in the end, we found a 1930's house in a much better location...and I would not have my house if we hadn't had the disappointment of losing the first. So, take heart! YOUR house is out there...you are looking and so you will find it. :)

  21. Sorry to hear about the house lovely - as you say it works out as it is meant to :)

You look fabulous in the pics - I am trying to decide whether to get some jeans from Freddies - but being plus size I'm a bit dubious :s How do you find they fit?

    Love the cat brooch!

    1. Thank you so much! Well I was also a bit iffy when I purchased mine because I have a pretty huge gap in my waist to hip ratio. I actually wrote a pretty detailed review of them last year on here so you may want to look it up. I really love mine and they fit my voluptuous hips very well :)

  24. I'm a big believer in "what's meant to be, will be" and really commend your stoic outlook on how this situation unfolded. I'm so sorry you didn't get the house, but am sure that something even better is waiting just around the corner for you guys.

What a darling outfit! That brooch is so, so cute! We recently got a new puppy (Annie) and I think that she would thoroughly approve of it as well! :)
