After watching the wonderful silent film I recommended in my last blog post I decided to put together an outfit that was inspired by the movie. A month or so ago I got this lovely silk Dynasty blouse and had been wanting to wear it but I wasn't sure how. Then my lovely friend Quincy gave me a pair of wide legged trousers very reminiscent of the 20's/30's and I knew it was a match made in heaven.

I don't think as many people cared for this outfit (I posted it on instagram a while ago) as it isn't my usual silhouette, but I must say it was the most comfy thing I've worn in forever and I love it, so that's all that matters.

I also took a few shots in my new favorite coat. Also purchased at the flea market.

I'm happy to finally be feeling better (while I was on Thanksgiving break I had to go to the doctor yet again and found I had an even worse infection in my chest. So, happily is all finally being fixed up) because it gives me so much more energy to create different looks. I'd been feeling a little lethargic when it came to dressing creatively, due to my feeling ill, but we all go through slumps like that I think. When we're extra busy, feeling down, and whatnot. What gets you good and inspired when you're coming out of a slump?

  1. I love chineese clothes but they always come in such small sizes!!!!
Your outfit remind me of a vintage pajama that I have:

You look gorgeous, you can add a huge string of pearls and it's will be a perfect 20's outfit....

  2. I think your outfit is lovely! So reminiscent of chinese styles from the 20's and 30's! And your hair is superb!

  4. i love this asian vintage style ... so pretty!!!

  5. Aah adore this look so much, suits you to a T. Films, films always inspire me and get me outta a bad place. Get better soon chickadee xx

  8. It isn't your usual style but you sure look super cute as a vintage Chinese girl :)

  9. I have only just started to wear trousers after being a skirts/dresses person. I only have one pair so far and am still a bit self conscious wearing them in public until I get used to the feel of them. i really like your wide legged trousers with your tunic top giving an air of modesty. I love the look and it will inspire me to persevere wearing trousers

  10. Beautiful look on you, I like the relaxed lines of it all

  11. That coat and your hair are *flawless*. I think you look fab, and I'm a little envious you can pull off Asian-inspired looks; I've always wanted to, but since my features look vaguely Asian, it crosses some weird lines I've never felt comfortable trying to rock.

  12. I love it. I used to live in China so I have a huge fondness for vintage-style Chinese clothes. Gorgeous.

  13. Love the outfit/hair/makeup!!!! inspired!!!

  14. Love the outfit/hair/makeup!!! Inspired!!!!

  15. Wow! I haven't been on your blog for some time, and now you suddenly have this wonderful 20s haircut. What a welcome change to the common 40s, 50s hairstyles I always see on other vintage/retro-blogs. Really nice :-)
I also like this Chinese jacket. But I would wear it with tight pants. (although this is not really vintage, I knooow...) :-)

Keep on being so lovely please!
