One Thing At A Time

Today I've been thinking about dealing with stress. I used to be really bad at handling stressful situations. I could never check one thing at a time off my list without thinking about everything else that I had to do, and it always overwhelmed me. I probably shouldn't say I'm 100% better at not getting stressed, but I think I'm getting a lot better at taking things one day at a time, one check on the list at a time.

I leave for Italy next week on choir tour for spring break. You would think this would be a great source of excitement for me, but it's turning out to be a tad bit of a stress factor. I realized my senior recital was going to be frighteningly close to my return from Italy, which means my hearing is even closer. I was also supposed to start having meetings with planners for my wedding and look for venues and such like. Sadly, that planning must be put on hold so I can get school work done and memorize music, so I don't crash and burn in my recital. What I am proud about is the fact that I'm not freaking out. I'm thinking about everything I have to do one day at a time. Tonight I will work on memorizing some music and a monologue for class. That's all, and that is not stressful.

I cannot wait to be done with school, but until then, one day at a time, one thing at a time.

Love.
