This weekend Ty and I went to Nashville (per usual) and met with the wedding planner, and I think we might have found our venue! It's this wonderful place in down time Nashville called aVenue, we both loved it, and it would be an amazing place to celebrate our special day in.
While we were in Nashville we were also able to stop by whole foods and get me some tasty corn free treats (I'm allergic to corn and coffee, and just recently found out, so I'm having to re-structure my diet as pretty much everything has corn in it). We also got some Indian sauces I can't wait to try out. May I also say it stinks to find out you're allergic to coffee the month before you begin student teaching.

I slept in curlers for the first time last night, and I really loved how the curl stayed all day long, even against Tennessee's horrid humidity. I actually have naturally very curly hair, but it's very kinky curls, so I blow dry it out and then curl it in a more manageable way. I also have gotten hot sticks, but am having problems using them. Do any of you use hot sticks?

Em
Cute dress, you take such lovely photos :)

Wow lady you look like you stepped out of a high fashion magazine from the 50's! You look beyond amazing! you should try a london fog, it is a tea latte basically with a sprinkle of vanilla, soooo yummy!

Your hair looks so gorgeous that I'm going to attempt to sleep in curlers one night. Where I live it also gets icky and humid and my hair tends to turn into a crazy kinky mess. I also love this look and the subtlety of the accessories!

You look absolutely stunning in that dress! And your hair looks great...love how you curled your bangs!

This dress looks gorgeous on you, and I love the scarf!
ReplyDeleteMy hair used to be naturally curly but I think due to various heat products frizzling it away it's turned strawlike and straight, sight.

Rag curls all the way! I love the dress:)

your hair looks fab! and it is a beautiful colour too.
ReplyDeleteInstead of coffee you could have a nice cup of tea? (I would say that, I'm English).
Wow, your hair is amazing. The colour and the curls, gorgeous. I'm interested in how you slept in the curlers, seems too painful for me! The only way I can get my hair to get any sort of curl is by sleeping in pincurls. I've tried hot rollers, but the curls drop within the hour. Has anyone got any suggestions about the best modern hot rollers? (Brand preference?) xox
ReplyDeleteI don't use hot sticks, I don't really do anything to my hair to be honest. Yours looks gorgeous though. I really like your dress too. Hopefully you'll get used to not being able to drink coffee with time, although it is annoying that you cant drink it :-/.

Alergic to coffee!?! Oh no! You poor thing!
ReplyDeleteYou look so lovely here.
Hello Em,
ReplyDeleteI've slept in hot rods once or twice, I find that getting a small blanket and arranging it so it sits in between the hard rods on my pillow helps to get comfy. Does that make sense? They can be uncomfy. Are curlers big, what are they like to sleep in?
P.S my cat says she likes your dress, she thinks it would look nice to knead on.
You look lovely as always. And I'm glad you found the perfect place to celebrate your wedding :)

I'm sure it will be wonderfull! xo
Hello! Just came to say that I adore your style and your blog, and I am following! :)
ReplyDeleteIve never known someone to be allergic to coffee! I'd die, and I sympathize :C And jesus that dress is Gorgeous with a capital G.
ReplyDeleteoh lovelly, perfect dress, make up and hair
ReplyDeleteLove your scarf/headband. I have very curly hair, too, and I often use either pin curls or velcro rollers (or just dry it in a couple of Leia buns) to get some modicum of control over it!
ReplyDeleteAt least now you'll have a great reason to cut down on processed foods! Sorry about the coffee, though. Tea does make a nice substitute.
you're so glamourous.
ReplyDeleteSeriously! You have the best hair and style...you look like you walked out of a different era...and took all the beauty of that era with you! Just so lovely! :) That allergy deal is a bit of a challenge, but thinking about what to eat and ensuring you have the right nutrients is always something that will pay off later! If I find any recipes or think of amazingly awesome tasty items that are corn free, I'll be sending them your way! Hearts, janna lynn
ReplyDeleteMarthaamay O_o: Ok. So you sleep in the hot sticks? Well I slept in foam curlers, and I didn't use huge ones, but I put on a sleeping cap and they were pretty comfy :)
ReplyDeleteSarah: I just use conair's hot rollers, and they work super well.

ReplyDeleteAhh! So, I not so subtly erased my last post. haha.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find it easy transitioning into finding non corn related foods and a new energy source! I hope it has not been to hard so far.
On the fashion front... you are stunning! Always perfectly put together. I am in awe of this ability! And congrats on finding a wedding location!
you are adorable and i love your style!
ReplyDeleteawww you are so pretty:)
ReplyDeleteHey, thanks for your comment :)! I love your hair in this pictures... May I ask you on your height? I just wondered because of the blo title. :)!
ReplyDeleteHello, thanks for reading my blog and for your sweet comment! I am in the process of becoming a redhead, but as I'm using henna (it's a natural dye) the results can be a little unpredictable, so I'm saving the big blog reveal until I'm totally happy with it! Then we shall be curly red haired twinsies (you and me and Delightfully Tacky). However, judging by these pictures, I'm much more of a scruffbag than you.
ReplyDeletePS: coffee? Never touch the stuff. I run on tea :)
FeeMail: I'm 5' 2" :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm even smaller. Barely 5'! I love meeting other small girls :)!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your hair and your outfit! <3

Wow, love your hair 'do!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this outfit. The dress is sooo pretty, and I've been looking for shoes like that for a while now...
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you're allergic to coffee, that sounds like the worst... ever. I'd be in so much troule. But if you're not allergic to the caffeine, but some other component, I guess you could go for other stuff...
Your dress is so pretty! I love white dresses. it's a shame I make them so dirty so quickly!
ReplyDeleteWow, gorgeous hair and dress! :)
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is simply gorgeous! I also love your hair! Thanks for the inspiration <3

Just wanted to tell you, it might not be the coffee, it might be the corn in the coffee. Filter paper has corn, as does non organic coffee, flavored coffee, freeze dried and non Swiss water processed decaf. Organic coffee -should- be safe Cafe Christina brand is one the corn allergic community love. Green Moutain is another that might work.
