After a huge break of not pin curling or rag curling my hair and mainly using heat (I know, horrid for my hair) I finally pin curled my hair last night. I wanted to see how my new cut would look. Quincy of Q's Daydream cut it for me a few days ago, and I'm loving it.
Tomorrow I start a job working for a business answering phones and whatnot. I was subbing but it really wasn't steady enough, and I need something until I start working at a mother's day out/preschool in August. I'm also hoping this summer to start giving voice and piano lessons (so if anybody is in the Nashville area and needs some look me up!). I miss music so much after graduating. Hopefully, in the next year I'll be able to find a full time position teaching it. Any who, all that to say I'm nervous about doing something that is not teaching, ha.

Your hair looks beautiful! Quincy did a great job!

Your hair turned out so well! I think pin curls give such a natural look when compared to using a curling iron~ I'm loving your darker hair colour too.
ReplyDeleteI'm so in love with your high-waisted jeans too! I found the best pair of high-waisted pants which were just a teeny bit too snug... I thought, oh well, I wanted to lose some weight anyway so I'm sure they will fit. Then the next week I found out I was pregnant! So they've been tucked away in a drawer for the future now, hehe.
Oh yay! Your hair look lovely!
ReplyDeleteA new job!? I need to hear about this! lol
Your hair looks amazing!! It looks to be about my length & color, so I'm looking forward to getting some inspiration from your lovely 'dos! ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd adorable outfit, as always!
Gorgeous hair :) makes me want to curl mine!
ReplyDeleteI love that blouse too, its so light and pretty!
Good luck with your job :) !

That is an 80s blouse?
ReplyDeleteI am still so in love with your hair colour change. It is still very new to me. :)
Hope married life is treasting you well.

Quincy did a lovely job, your hair looks great. Subbing is no fun at all...be sure to put your application in at the Franklin Special School District, you never know what might open up...and I might be biased, but I do think it's a great place to work ;)
ReplyDeleteThe hair looks amazing (as always)! Good look for the new job but I hope what you want comes your way too!
ReplyDeleteI just did the same thing! Haven't curled my hair in weeks, just blow dried, but just pin curled it last night! Long hair makes it hard to do :/ Wish Quincy could cut my hair too, it looks adorable!

Your hair looks terrific! I should really try pin-curling mine :)
ReplyDeleteYour curls look so nice--soft and natural. Do you like pin curls better than rag curls? I tried rag curls last week for the first time last week, and I'm about to blog about the hilarious difference between my scary first attempt and pretty second attempt. Solanah's tutorial made all the difference!
ReplyDeleteDo pin curls take longer than rag curls?
Hope you enjoy the new job. Good luck!
I am absolutely LOVING your dark hair! You look like a totaly vamp, your last three sets of outfit posts have really been gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI wish I lived near you so you could give me piano lessons! Best of luck with getting that off the ground :)
Lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh it looks wonderful! I have been rag curling my hair every other day and loving it! :) I hope you find something teaching soon! What a pretty teacher to have! I wish I lived in Nashville, I'd hire you to teach me some piano! :) Instead I am learning myself and very slow as I hardly have the time! Oh and your jeans look super comfy/classic and I loved how you wore heels with them in your last post! ;) Have a lovely week! Zoë x
ReplyDeleteOh, you look adorable, as always! Your cut looks perfect, Q knows what she's doing!
ReplyDeleteIf I lived in Nashville I would love to take a lesson from you! I haven't played the piano in years, but would love to take it up again.
your hair looks gorgeous. such a perfect length. the blouse is lovely as well. thank you for your lovely comment.
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS hair. My grandmother wore her hair like that when she was young, and it was pretty and dark too! You are perfectly vintage.

I love your hair! I have never, ever, ever successfully pin curled my hair. It looks awful every single time! I'm still loving those jeans. Good luck with the job! I'd totally take voice lessons if I lived closer. I've always wanted to sing better than I do :)

I've never tried pin curling. I'm afraid my hair is too long for most cute styles like that. It's more of the towel-dry-and-go length :/ Maybe after I chop it off in a few years I'll give pin curling a go!
ReplyDeleteI was in Nashville this past weekend, and I remembered you having some good clothes from the Hip Zipper so I stopped by with my friend! I enjoyed it! I didn't buy anything that time, but I definitely want to go back when I have a little more money.
nice hair looks :)
ReplyDeleteYou are sooooooo beautiful! Love your hair style... Your face is very classy! :)

So gorgeous!, i adore the new hair colour too :)
ReplyDeleteThose pants on you are way too fabulous for words. I love the loose pin curl set and you makeup application. Are you still using the same products as before? Quincy is a genius when it comes to vintage hair cuts.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I am so tired of this market. It is so horrible for new graduates. I graduated in 2010 with a Biology degree and still cannot find a career job within my major. I really do not know what I want to do if I go back to school for my Masters, so for now I am just working at a job that I do not much care for. I am happy for you that you have a plan in the near future that will allow you to be happy with the work you want to do (you deserve it). Good luck with all your future endeavors!
I love your new hair so much, you are so lucky, your complexion suits so many hair colours!
ReplyDeleteThose Freddies jeans are fabulous, I've also been thinking about getting the same pair in red.
Hope your new job goes well, I'm sure you'll be just fine :)
Love those pants on you! Do you think you will shorten them or keep them long? I can never decide what to do with mine and they are almost always too long.
ReplyDeleteGabrielle- Yes ma'am I'm still using the same products. I think I'm gonna try to do a few new hair tutorials sometime soon showing a few different ways I do it with different products. Oh, I know! Good luck to you as well finding something you like!
ReplyDeleteLoryn- Pants are always too long on me, especially since I'm only 5'2" and have very short legs. I think I may keep them long because I really like the way they look rolled up...but I haven't for sure decided yet.
Jen- I like pin curls better than rag curls because you have more control over style and how it's going to look afterwards, but they do take more time than rag curls. At least they do for me most of the time, I have veerry thick hair. But I experimented with a quick messy set of pin curls and they turned out well, so I'll have to show those sometime.
I just found your blog and I am completely obsessed. You are too lovely for words! I adore these trousers on you, and I'm also so bloody envious of your beautiful hair. Definitely giving your rag curl tutorial a whirl too!
