I've been doing more antique shopping of late, which is so wonderful, it's been a while since I had been going regularly. Here are some of my finds and whatnot.
These are some of my fabulous finds from the Nashville flea market. I got some amazing deals. One of the venders gave me about six vintage hats for $10 and I got all these lipsticks for just a $1 each. Yeaaaah.
I also went to a local antique mall with my lovely sister Sarah. I wish we could have bought this beautiful 40's mink! But alas, it was too expensive.
But by far this was my greatest purchase of the last week:
Tyler and I have been on the hunt for a lovely art deco armoire. We were looking at several but this was an amazing deal. And here's a bit of the top in our room:
I hope you all have had a wonderful week!

Em

ReplyDeleteMy stars, what terrifically wonderful finds - and bargains. That has to be the deal of the year on those classic, elegantly hats and lipstick tubes. I'm thrilled for you and your new finds, and just have to say how gorgeous you and your sister look. It must be so heartwarmingly awesome to have someone in your own family to share in your love of the past with.

Wow, great finds! You both look great!
ReplyDeleteOoh! Lots of exciting things to coo over, those lipstick tubes are amazing. Love that green robe you snapped, too. The armoire is great, what a stunning piece! You are your sister are adorable together (I'd love to see more of that amazing yellow/mustard/green outfit). Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI want to go antiquing with you! That armoire is incredible. Is that tiger birch veneer? And what is it like on the inside? When I was 19, I bought a 1930s waterfall bedroom set, and the vanity was lined with 1930s newspaper pages. And someone had left an unopened package of vintage stockings in the bottom drawer! I loved it so much.
ReplyDeleteCan we talk about that green dressing gown? It's making me think of Stanley Kowalski from A Streetcar Named Desire. LOVE.
I'm not really sure, it's just plain on the inside, but wow that is AMAZING. What a lovely thing to find. And we should go antiquing together!! I think it'd be so fun.
Delete*Gorgeous* armoire!! I've always wanted one of those too; so classic!
ReplyDeleteAnd you and your sister are way too adorable!
Such wonderful finds, the wardrobe is gorgeous. And the colours you are wearing look beautiful on you x
ReplyDeleteHow fun, yes antique malls seem like the place to go, I need to go explore the ones out here!

ReplyDeleteIt's one on 8th Ave. I think it's just called 8th Ave. Antiques ha. I love that street for going by shops.
DeleteOh my gosh!!!! I think I have a serious case of thrifting envy! What amazing finds.....just gorgeous!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou totally scored - I love that armoire! And can I just say, you and your sister are making me have hair-envy!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo many very lovely finds! I think my absolute fave is the picture of the lady with her face turned to the side. And the frames! They look so beautiful on top of your lovely armoire.
ReplyDeleteI need to go thrift shopping in the South...there really isn't much to speak of as far as vintage thrifting in Minnesota! I love those hats, esp the black net one with the bow, so cute! And of course that mink would have been fab...wish you could've afforded that :)
