This past weekend was not only Easter, but also my littlest brother's birthday. He turned 15...it's just so weird. I'm the oldest of five, if you didn't already know, and I'm having a hard time seeing all my little siblings grow up. I can't even imagine how it must feel to be a parent!
I also had the fortune/misfortune to get a new car! (read as: used car). My old car was a piece of crap, and finally the repairs were too expensive to keep it around, so out we went to get a newer, steadier, and better car. Sadly, this puts house hunting on hold as all our savings went to the car. BUT, I have a car where all the lights work (all the time!), the horn works...I really missed that... and most importantly the breaks work, so it's ok in the end.
So, I'm pretty much in love with this dress. I wore it a lot this winter, but it didn't get the spotlight it deserved here on the blog. I'm addicted to the Sweetie style dress on the Trashy Diva website. They have the perfect 40's silhouette, and the most amazing prints.

Adorable! I want to get a pair of swedish hasbeens so bad, how do you like yours?
ReplyDeleteI like mine a lot. Though I must say they are a bit troublesome because I have wide feet. I had to buy a size up and then the straps in the back stretched out so I keep having to take them to a shoe repair place and get extra holes punched in. I think only people with wide feet have problems with them though.
DeleteFabulous dress - if you don't mind my asking, are you wearing a corset? Amazing waist definition.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Nope, no corset, I'm just finally loosing weight and getting back my waist. Thank you though :)
DeleteAs we say in Australia, crickey! What a fabulous waist it is!
DeleteAgreed! Teeny tiny wasp waist. Looks smashing!
DeleteLOVE that vibrant print!! You look so tropical and gorgeous! And oh, it looks so lush and warm in Nashville; we just got more snow last night, sigh!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love this dress! I can't believe it's repro! I just made a dress from a 40s pattern that looks exactly like this dress (with different fabric of course). They must have really done their homework!
ReplyDeleteWowee look at your hair! Very Rita Hayworth!
ReplyDeleteMy car was scrapped this weekend too - again too expensive to justify running. Bad weekend for cars huh :(
Forever in love with your Trashy Diva pieces :) x
Love your dress so sweet. And i must say you always have so good hair ;)
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet dress, and I loove your hair! well I am the youngest of our family, and my siblings gasp every year when it's my birthday that "are you REALLY that old??" :D I'm glad you got a car where things actually WORK :D breaks not working sounds bad..

You look beautiful and the dress really looks great on you. I wish my waist was a tiny as yours! ^.^ Pretty lady!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new car, that's awesome! Hard as it is to believe, until last spring (2012) Tony and I (either seperately or as a couple) had ever had a car (my parents did, but his never had - so it truly was his first car in every way). It's been such a tremendous blessing to have one for a little over a year now.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is the bee's knees! I've never ordered anything from Trashy Diva, but I sure hope to join the ranks of their loyal fans one of these days.

You have such a TINY waist! Oh wow. You really are the most darling vintage inspiration. I love the slightly puffed sleeves on that dress! And you're right the pattern and silhouette are truly divine. Sorry about your car...at least you have one that works now! Hoping house hunting can start up again for you soon :) My husband and I are in that process also and it's so daunting! Such a big life decision.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in this dress. And I can't get over those shoes!!! You look great :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hair! Did you set it any differently? Love VVxxx
ReplyDeleteWell I usually do different sets on my hair, never really the same one, but this particular day I did a hot sticks set.
