1960

The other day my hair decided to do an early 60's flippy thing, so I went with it. I used to be very into the 60's vibe when I was in college and haven't done a lot of it since. I really enjoyed this look though, and I may have to replicate it more often.

Can we talk about this coat for a moment? I went to the flea market, last year actually, and saw this darling cream coat and thought "I don't have anything like that", so I proceeded to check it out. I then saw the Lilli Ann tag on the coat and realized it probably wasn't going to be in my price range. I asked the lady who was selling it how much she wanted for the coat and she says  "Ohhh, maybe $20?" ...Um, yes! That is right in my budget and a $20 quite well spent for a Lilli Ann coat.

  1. Oh wow, what a good find!!! This isn't EXACTLY the same, but it's similar and $300: http://nvisionshop.com/?wpsc-product=lilli-ann-cream-mohair-swing-coat

Also, I think the softer makeup looks lovely on you. With such good skin and bone structure, you don't need much makeup to be beautiful.

    1. Yes! I have seen several damaged one's missing their pin parts and such so I was super excited to receive this as a gift. I'm really in love with name brooches, I need to start collecting more and I already have 4 various scottie dogs, I love them so.

  3. Aaah! This look is so pretty on you!! It had a very brunette Kim Novak look to it if that even makes sense. I now want to join you and Rae in the Scotty pins club, keeping my eyes peeled. :D

  8. Now that is one for the awesome steal of a deal vintage fashion files if ever there was! I landed a purple and cream LA suit jacket (sadly the skirt was long gone) for $40 last September (on our trip to Calgary) and felt like I did quite well there, but that pales compared to just $20 for this timelessly fantastic coat. Great find and fabulous styling - an early 60s vibe works tremendously well on you, dear gal.

  13. What a great makeup look on you, very soft and romantic.
I have a similar coat - it's camel-colored, early fifties - that I found for TWELVE DOLLARS at Plato Closet. I am never that lucky, it was crazy.
