Scottie Dog Addiction

I've realized that I have a Scottie dog brooch addiction. I'm so in love with them, and practically wear them with every outfit. I'm not ashamed however, they are adorable and I will wear them everyday proudly. Here's my outfit from today, sporting, of course, a Scottie dog.

I'm wearing my hair like this so often lately. It's a nice easy style, and suits most of my clothing. I'm missing my long hair lately. I just want it to grow, grow, grow. However, at the same time, I want all the dyed bits gone and think of cutting it all off. Oh, choices.

Is there an accessory or clothing article that you can't help but wear often?

  1. My hair is also getting to that in between phase where I really want to cut it off, but at the same time I'm anxious to see it long! Medium length is really the best of both worlds, even if it feels boring.

    I love your brooch!

    1. I agree. It can start to feel rather dull but it seems a good medium length is the best for styling and such.

  2. I too love Scottie brooches! Because I have Schnauzers I pretend that's what all things vintage Scottie are.

    1. Aww how lovely! I had Schnauzers growing up! They are fabulous dogs.

  3. I've been growing out my hair too, not from dye but from being chemically straightened (it's actually really curly). I've been so impatient as well so I've cut the back off! You would look nice with a cute pixie like Quincy of Q's Daydream :)

    1. Thanks my dear! I actually had a pixie, but much shorter than Quincy's, in college and I adored it. Will have to do some thinking :)

  4. Well how can you say no to a scottie dog?! Your hair looks great at any length, tbh. I'd say if you want to grow out the dye completely & get your natural hair color back, it's best to grow it out while short, get rid of the dye... and then you can have all the freedom to keep it, or grow it out.

Hope your New Year is treating you well!

    1. I know, right?! Wise words, that's probably what I shall do...just have to keep going and keep patient. Thank you love! I hope yours is going along swimingly.

  5. Oh, the cut vs letting colour grow out conundrum is not a fun one. Chop it off to get rid of the dye faster was my choice the only time I was in that spot and never regretted it (multi-inch long roots trumped not having hair as long as I wanted).

Very cute outfit! Believe it or not, much as I've long loved them, I just bought my first scottie dog pin last September (a c. 1930s celluloid charmer).

  6. I don't like calling it an "addiction", I prefer to call it Collecting. :) And your brooch is adorable, it truly is. Your outfit, too. I rather like how you matched lips and shoes - and, thus, broke "the black-and-blue".
    Now, a thing about hair.
Cutting is NOT reversible (I know you know that, but I feel the need to say it). If you miss your long hair, how much will you be missing ANY hair, dear? I'd like you to consider this, think about it.. and thing well. I have short hair (darn, I can't remember the last time I haven't had short hair - I wrote about it on my little blog).
Is short hair easy-maintenance? In one word: no. It takes time to force it in position, especially the "bird nest" you get on the top of your head when you get out of bed. However, it does save you money on hair-products.
Also, consider the scary fact that, no matter how much we progress in this world, there is still a general belief that women are to have long hair. If you have short hair: 1. you are sick 2. you are "alternative" or 3. you must be one of those "tomboy" masculine women.
    ..
    This I must add:
Your face is beautiful, well shaped and short hair will suit you. It really would. (just... think about it - because I think your hair right now is absolutely magnificent)

    P.S.
I hope you don't find this inappropriate..

    1. Thank you for your comment. I don't find it inappropriate at all. I've had very short hair (short pixie) and I did adore it. I don't care much for what people think of short hair, if I did care what people thought it'd be quite difficult dressing as I do. But I appreciate your thoughts. Thank you so much for your lovely compliment.
