For The Classroom

This is one of the dresses I found at Flashback. I love it because I'll be able to wear it all through the fall and probably winter, but since it's a light material and sheer sleeves I can wear it now too!

I've been on the hunt lately for outfits to wear while student teaching (hopefully to one day wear while I'm teaching my own classes as well) this fall. It's so hard to find modern things that are really cute and still modest enough for the classroom, but vintage dresses give me the modesty the classroom demands while still maintaining my style.

I've also fallen in love with using hot curlers. I just blow dry my hair and put them in, and ta da! I think they will be something I'll be carrying into the fall, since there will be lots of early mornings, and I know I will not feel like devoting loads of time to my hair. Do any of you also have a little love affair with hot curlers?

I hope you all have had a lovely Monday!

  1. You find the most gorgeous dresses. :D I love the polka dots and the sheer sleeves!!! You have a lovely style.

I also love hot curlers! My hair is on the shorter side right now though, so I don't use them as often due to a fear of looking like Annie. :P

  9. I will agree with you on finding modest clothes in a teacher setting. Even though I won't be in the classroom anytime soon, I'm really considering a different kind of wardrobe for that kind of job. Oh look, more shopping to do in the future!

I love the collar of this polka dot number. Very classy.

  11. I love that dress! It really suits you. And your hair is so beautiful!

I like to find comfy and modest things for work, because I have to do a lot of lifting and bending. I wear things like long woolen old lady skirts or high waisted skirts with tights, knitted vests over blouses, pinafore style dresses, and lacey blouses over long-sleeved t-shirts. And I always wear flat shoes like ballet flats or flat boots :)

  14. Oh you will be the loveliest teacher! That dress is so pretty! We don't have very good vintage in my town which is a bummer! I will just have to be more adventurous and go searching! I have never tried hot rollers. My hair is so long I don't know if it would work. I will have to try though.
