eShakti: A Review

Ok, not to overwhelm the blog with reviews, but I have another great one for you guys. eShakti asked me to review a sample for them and I was really thrilled to do so. I've looked at some reviews by other bloggers and thought their site and style looked very interesting. One of the things that caught my attention was that for $7.50 you can have whatever garment you order completely customized to your measurements. This is a suuuper wonderful thing for a lady shaped as I am. I have a large difference in my waist to hip ratio and even though I'm not busty I still have problems with things being perfect at the bust but too big in the waist. So, given this fantastic option I decided to go for it. I got this lovely dress fit to my measurements and it did not disappoint.

I also like the other options that eShakti offers such as adding sleeves (and lengths of sleeves), different neck lines, and dress length. There are many times I have looked at a dress and thought it would be so adorable if the length was a little longer. They have a wonderful classic and vintage flair to a lot of their clothing that makes it perfect for any vintage lady and also with most things under $100, makes it more budget friendly. The size choices for their garments are also fantastic going up to a 6X or 36W. Their custom options can accommodate any size though.

The dress I ordered is very well made. It is good sturdy material that feels as if it will last and nothing about it seems cheap. This will be a dress I will wear over and over again.

  3. That dress looks so lovely on you! There is nothing like a made-to-measure garment. Your hair is also looking soooooooo lovely (as I've already been admiring on Instagram) and it's getting long! :)

  6. This dress looks AMAZING on you! The print and cut really suit your style. I have a couple dresses from eShakti, and I love them! As an hourglass shaped gal, it doesn't seem to matter how much a silhouette may be "in style", I still have troubles finding garments to fit me right at both the bust and waist, as you mentioned. I love the amount of control eShakti offers! Really great for staple and statement pieces alike.

  7. You look stunning in that dress. I find the idea and concept of the shop very interesting. And it's nice when you know already that the grament fits before it even arrives. Unfortunately they do only ship to the US and Canada. No chance for a german girl like me.

  8. Wow! That is REALLY cute dress! I have similar problems with fit a lot of the time (especially with off the rack new clothes, which is why I've all but abandoned Target...if a dress is short on a regular sized person, it's a MICRO MINI on me!) and I'm so glad to hear that the custom tailoring option really is both a)economical and c) successful. Plus this pattern/style is vintage TO THE CORE, which of course, I am totally excited about. Beautiful!

  9. That seems to be a really nice dress and fit you well! You look LOVELY!
I have had some bed experience on some chineese sellers on Ebay who are making vintage copies with my measurements... the fabrics were not what I expected, well done but too big dur to strechy fabrics.
I think that for $100, I prefer to buy a vintage dress but for some impossible to find vintage piece it's good to have a good adress... I also have a big difference between waist and hips... pants are my most difficult piece to find!

  10. So wonderfully lovely! I'm really glad to know that you had a positive experience with this great eShakti dress. I've bought, and received (to review), a few garments from them over the past half a year and have really mixed results (for example, two dresses I bought from them were more than two inches smaller in the waist than the measurement sizing listing on their site, and as a result both were too small in the torso for me to wear even remotely comfortably), though the last time around (a dress I'll be reviewing in a few days) was the best so far, I'm very happy to say.

  16. You look fantastic! I wish more clothing lines would pick up on customizable clothing. I would pay extra money for something that I knew would fit perfectly!

  17. What a lovely dress - particularly love the finishing touch of that brooch :D

That's a great idea... I normally have problems finding trousers to fit (smallish waist and much bigger hips) so I can imagine it can be just as much an issue in dresses.

  24. That dress is so pretty! I don't remember seeing that one. I am in the process of reviewing a dress for eShakti and unfortunately, it's going horrible - for about three months now. I hope that it will get better and I can give them a good review. I was in Wonders on Woodland this past weekend and told Deb how much she made your day with that pin. She was really tickled.

    1. Yes, when I chose it I went back to look a few days after and it was gone. Several people have asked about it...so I'm not really sure why I have the option of wearing a dress that they removed. Doesn't seem smart. Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry. I hope it gets better! Aww, yay! Well, she really did, and I adore wearing it :)

  27. I just ordered 3 dresses from Eshakti on May 22nd. They haven't shipped yet, but I did get an email apologizing. Hopefully they will be shipped by June 10th (per email). From some other reviews I've read, it's probably a good idea to order 4-6 weeks ahead if you really want something for a particular occasion. BTW, you look lovely in that dress - great style!
